This version is primarily bug fixes and performance enhancements. The Growl notifications are better: it properly notifies how many new episodes that you have and whether there was any feed that couldn’t be reached during the refresh cycle. Furthermore channel images are now stored as individual files which helps to combat fragmentation of the main database file.
Channel images are now stored as separate JPEG2000 files, which is a better image format for thumbnails and help increase the performance of the channel selection display. Special thanks to Will Shipley for his writeup about JPEG2000 as a good format for thumbnailed images. As what Will Shipley have noted, JPEG2000 is much faster than normal JPEG starting from Mac OS X 10.5.
