BiggerPicture 1.1.4 for Italian Users

This version of BiggerPicture adds Italian localization and help documentation. Users who configure their macOS default language as Italian would see BiggerPicture in that language as well as being shown the Italian version of the help book.

Bigger Picture Italian

Follow these steps set your system language to Italian:

  1. Open System Preferences.
  2. Look at the left-hand “Preferred Languages” list. If Italian is already there, drag it to the top and then go to Step 4.
  3. Otherwise if there is no “Italian”, click on the “+” button, select “Italiano (Italia) – Italian (Italy)” and finally click “Add”. Afterwards go to Step 2.
  4. Close System Preferences
  5. Log out. When prompted, clear the “Reopen windows when logging back in” check box. This would force applications to completely restart from scratch (and not go through restoration).
  6. Log in again.
  7. If you have done this correctly, the Finder’s menu should be in Italian as well as most macOS’ built-in applications.

Another enhancement would be in performance. BiggerPicture should no longer cause system-wide stuttering while rendering large images in the background. This was caused because too much demand was placed on the graphics processor which is interfering with normal user-interface (UI) functions.

Last but not least, this release also adds a fix to app restoration. Previously in some cases the image dimension display doesn’t get updated live when the application was re-launched as part of UI restoration. This is now fixed.

Finally I’d like to extend our humble gratitude to the great support for BiggerPicture from our Italian customers. Grazie mille!
